This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the Aven mobile app, web app, and related services.

1. Information we collect

  • account information such as email address, user ID, login provider, and settings
  • study content such as notes, flashcards, images, files, decks, prompts, and AI output
  • usage information such as app activity, feature usage, device type, app version, and diagnostics
  • purchase information such as subscription status, entitlement status, product purchased, and store transaction identifiers
  • support information such as messages, feedback, bug reports, and requests you send us

2. How we use information

  • provide and sync your notes, decks, flashcards, and study materials
  • generate AI study materials when you request them
  • manage accounts, authentication, subscriptions, and premium access
  • improve app performance, reliability, safety, and user experience
  • respond to support requests
  • detect abuse, troubleshoot bugs, and maintain security
  • comply with legal, tax, and platform requirements

3. AI processing

When you use AI features, the text, files, images, or prompts you submit may be processed by AI service providers so Aven can generate study materials. Do not upload sensitive information unless you are comfortable using it with the service.

4. Payments and subscriptions

Purchases made in the Android app are processed through Google Play. Aven uses RevenueCat to manage subscription status and premium entitlements. Aven does not directly receive or store your full payment card number.

5. Service providers

We may use trusted service providers for authentication, hosting, cloud storage, analytics, crash reporting, AI processing, subscription management, and customer support. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services to Aven.

Aven uses PostHog for product analytics and usage measurement. PostHog may receive event names, screen or page views, app lifecycle events, and general device or app metadata. We do not intentionally send note text, flashcard text, uploaded file contents, AI prompts, or other study content to PostHog.

6. Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information when needed to operate the service, comply with law, enforce our terms, prevent abuse, or complete a business transfer such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.

7. Data security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect user information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide Aven, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and maintain backups. If you delete your account, we will delete or de-identify account information unless retention is required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, or legitimate business reasons.

10. Children

Aven is intended for students and general users but is not directed to children under the age required by applicable law to consent to digital services.

11. International users

Your information may be processed in countries other than where you live. These countries may have different privacy laws.
